As we look ahead in the new year and reflect on our successes and failures in 2018, one can’t help but to think at one point or another, all of us may have been more efficient and effective had we been able to better manage time! Managing time is never easy when you have so much on your plate, but it’s very important to know how to do it.
Here are the top 3 key time management tips that i read in “Work Smarter, Not Harder” that are sure to help you be more efficient in 2019!
Write a to do list first thing in the morning!
Prioritize what’s important by listing out immediate things that should be done, as opposed to things that can afford to wait a few days.
Devote your entire focus to the task at hand.
Close out all windows. Put your phone away, out of sight and on silent. Find a quiet place to work, or listen to some music if that helps you focus.
Delineate a time limit in which to complete task.
Instead of just sitting down to work on a project and thinking, “I’m going to be here until this is done,” take the approach of, “I’m going to work on this piece for two hours”. This will push you to focus and be more efficient, even if you end up having to go back and add a bit more later.
